I know a lot of us were expecting The Anxiety Check-In: A Guided Journal to Support Your Mental Health and Help You Through the Hard Days (A Daily Wellness Journal for Anxiety Relief and Self-Care, Gifts for Millennial Women) to be good, but I have to say, this book actually exceeded my expectations. I have a lump in my throat and I can't stop thinking about it. I usually spend time making detailed notes while reading a book but, at one point, I opened Notes on my computer just to type "this is so good"

This is the sort of book The Anxiety Check-In: A Guided Journal to Support Your Mental Health and Help You Through the Hard Days (A Daily Wellness Journal for Anxiety Relief and Self-Care, Gifts for Millennial Women) reads to feel worldly. Just like the spate of American pop fiction in the late eighties, this is overwhelmingly colonized literature, in that it pretends to reveal some aspect of the 'other' culture, but on closer inspection (aside from the occasional tidbit) it is a thoroughly western story, firmly ensconced in the western tradition.
